Use your left over sourdough bread to make cheese toasties and pair with a warm soup on a cold night.


Heat butter in a pan, add the diced onion and cook gently until the onion is translucent.

Lightly beat the egg, add the cooked onion, grated cheese and wholegrain mustard and mix together.

Spoon the mixture onto the slices of sourdough and grill until bubbling and golden. 


4 – 6 slices of sourdough bread

1 egg

Cheddar cheese, grated (or any other cheese)

1 tsp wholegrain mustard*

½ onion, diced

1 Tbsp butter*
