This is a simple yet really delicious salad from Jen's Cozinha - great to serve with crackers as a dip or with bread and salad leaves for dinner. There is no need to use oil when cooking the fish.


Cook the fish with the garlic and ginger. When cool mince the fish along with the garlic and ginger in a food processor or with a stick blender. 

Place fish mixture in a large bowl. Add finely chopped onion, chilli and coriander. Mix in the other ingredients. Add juice, salt and pepper to taste. 

Serve with crusty bread or in lettuce cups.


500g white fish 

2 cloves garlic 

1 inch piece of ginger 

1/2 red onion very finely chopped*

2 Tbsp chopped coriander 

1 fresh chilli 

4 Tbsp mayonaise*

Juice two lemons or limes 

Salt and pepper*
